Frequently Asked Questions

Absolutely. Hypnobirthing is for everyone, regardless of how or where you plan to give birth. Whether you're hoping for a home birth, a hospital birth, a water birth or a planned caesarean, the techniques you'll learn can help you feel calmer, more confident and better prepared for your baby's birth.
Hypnobirthing can also be incredibly beneficial if your pregnancy has been labelled as high risk. While your care and birth plan may involve additional monitoring or interventions, the breathing, relaxation and mindset techniques can still help you feel informed, calm and in control throughout your birth experience.
Rather than focusing on a specific type of birth, hypnobirthing equips you with practical tools that can support you throughout your labour and birth journey, whatever direction it takes.

The ideal time to begin a hypnobirthing course is between 20 and 30 weeks of pregnancy. This gives you plenty of time after the course to practise the techniques, build your confidence, and make them feel second nature before your baby's arrival.
If you're already beyond 30 weeks, there's no need to worry. Book a consultation and we can discuss a solution that would work for your particular circumstances.

Hypnobirthing gives you practical tools to help you stay calm, relaxed, and in control throughout labour, which for some people meant a pain-free experience. However, pain is such a personal experience and I could never promise that hypnobirthing will result in a pain-free birth.

Absolutely. Hypnobirthing can be incredibly beneficial for a caesarean birth, whether it's planned or becomes the best option during labour.
The techniques you learn, such as breathing, relaxation, visualisation and mindset, can help you feel calm, informed and in control throughout your birth, whatever path it takes.
Hypnobirthing isn't about achieving one particular type of birth; it's about helping you feel confident, prepared and supported throughout your experience.
If you’d like to focus your preparation on Caesarean births, please flag it when booking your consultation so we can adjust your tailored package accordingly.

Once we've had your consultation call and you've decided to book, a £50 deposit will secure your place and your course dates.
The remaining balance is due the week before your first session. I'll send you an email in advance with all the payment details, making the process as simple and straightforward as possible.
If you'd prefer to spread the cost, payment plans are available. Just let me know during your consultation, and we'll find an option that works for you.

All of my courses are available online, so you can learn from the comfort of your own home if that's your preference.
If you'd like to attend in person, I'm happy to travel to you if you're based in the Vale of Glamorgan, Cardiff, or within approximately an hour's drive of Barry. Alternatively, you're very welcome to join me at my home for your course in a calm, relaxed setting.
During your consultation call, we can chat through the different options and choose the format that feels right for you.

Absolutely. I always recommend that your birth partner attends the course, as they'll play such an important role in supporting you during labour. The course is designed to prepare both of you, giving your birth partner practical skills, confidence and a clear understanding of how they can best support you on the day.
If your partner is feeling a little sceptical, they're certainly not alone! I had to persuade my own husband to come along to our hypnobirthing course, and by the end, he was so glad he did. I promise there's nothing strange or embarrassing involved, just practical, evidence-based preparation that helps both of you feel calm, informed and ready for birth.
If your partner really isn't able or willing to attend, you're very welcome to bring someone else who'll be supporting you during your birth, whether that's a family member, friend or another chosen birth partner. The most important thing is that the person supporting you feels just as prepared and confident as you do.
